  1. Me: "Mom can we have Gotham chess?"
Mom: "We have Gotham chess at home"

  2. Waiting one day Hikaru review my game too..
I only know one opening and that's London System

When that day will come when I will see my video here

  3. I didn't even know that the London has a specific setup that you want, I am learning so much, thank you Hikaru

  4. Why so many youtube videos about this opening? Would love this kind of thing on the scotch or Italian game, but most of those videos are older. Look up opening for white and almost all of them are the London. Is this really the best opening for a beginner? I was looking for E.4 content, but this looks way more popular, so now im starting to wonder if this is what i should focus on instead.

  5. Getting free advice for my favorite opening is always nice. Thanks Hikaru.

  6. I just don't understand why nearly 1500 rated players with hours of time make stupid moves such as losing tempo attempting useless check in the opening or capturing eith pawn away from the center. I am barely 1000 rated and nearly all my opponents NEVER make these mistakes…. Am I the only 1000 rated player that get matched up with fundamentally strong 1000s??

  7. Who's your best Chess player?
    Me: Hikaru and Hikaru ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ˜‡

  8. You need to go to a speed reading course, and a speed talking course while at it….. LOL
    Thanks for the vid

  9. Thanks Hikaru I captured a knight towards the center rather than the queen away from the center

  10. why levy has 2,3 milion vievs and hikaru one of the best players rn has 0,5 milion vievs

  11. Hikaru really never fails to teach us! Nice London โ™Ÿ๏ธ

  12. I need to watch his lesson videos on 0.5 speed, but it's cool it's a normal speed after all ๐Ÿ˜†

  13. am I the only one who watches hikaru's videos at 0.5 speed?

  14. I really like Hikaru's lecture. Very well spoken.

  15. levy said not to trade bishop on f4 instead slide it to g3 and if black's bishop takes your bishop you simply take it back with pawn to g3 opening h file for the rook

  16. I started the video, turned to take a drink and he was 10 layers deep in theory. Slow down bro, not all of us can keep up ๐Ÿ˜‚

  17. I'm using the jobova London opening and i always lose if they don't fall for the free rook on turn 5 trick ๐Ÿ˜‚ my problem is i didn't understand the London i just liked that trap. I can always retreat back into the London if the trap fails lol i guess i should have learned the London b4 the jobava London lol my elo is 600 so yeah….
    Im learning

  18. Two bishops >Two knights
    One knight > one bishop?
    Is that the math?

  19. I totally love the fact that one of the greatest chess players of all time is out trying to teach the rest of us, thanks a bunch!!!

  20. Lol Hikaru dresses like he was born in an island. Which last I checked was true.

    Puertorricans approve!

Im mad at the Botezs for making fun of people who use tropical shirts. Itโ€™s only lame if Americans not born on islands wear it ๐Ÿ™„

  21. u go too fast i need slow calm teacher .. no offensce

  22. Easily my favorite Chess Player. ๐Ÿ’ช Hikkaru

  23. It's amazing hikaru can be so good at being entertaining and also good at chess. 2 skills combined!

  24. In this opening the control over e5, e4 Squares is important

  25. Itโ€™s so cool being able to finally have stockfish explain WHY some moves are brilliant or horrible, instead of just yelling at me all the time

  26. The London is a great opening for average players to lower their Elo by a couple of hundred points.

  27. I love the way you expkain this stuff. Very interesting and educational. Helped me a lot. And I think a big part of helping it stick is your delivery. Like 'put the pony here, then this, this, this and this, then gobble, gobble and you are in a much better position'.

  28. As a beginner I'm so lost everything is moving so fast lol ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜…

  29. H-bomb I thought you HATED the London…I figured that you would prefer the Colle-Zuckertort which seems like an upgraded London, yes? Anything you'd have to say about the Colle-Z would be mandatory viewing for all players.

  30. Iโ€™m going to watch this at half speed. My brain is nowhere near this level. Hats off for the great video!

  31. "What are you watching?"
Me: Nothing, just watching hikaru drawing arrows on the board.

  32. These nuggets of knowledge are so insightful for us intermediate players

  33. I still don't know the London. Nice game review though.

  34. For a moment i thought at 14:00 that line hangs a pawn because of dxc5 the bishop cannot take the pawn but i realized the bishops trade then the queen takes the pawn. This is probably why the knight goes to d7 and not c6 at 14:02.

  35. Black almost always plays like this against London. I love it, free rating points

  36. He just missed the opportunity to start the video in British accent.
