Chess Openings: Learn to Play the Vienna Gambit!
There are many good chess gambits for white against e5 which include the King’s Gambit, Danish Gambit, Scotch Gambit, and Evans Gambit. However, all of these ches openings are extremely popular and black is usually well prepared for any of these chess opening systems. What can we play at move 2 and 3 to surprise black and still maintain good chess opening theory and chess opening strategy? In today’s video, we cover the Vienna Gambit which is a great chess opening for e4 players trying to find an attacking but sound response against e5. The Vienna Gambit starts off with the following moves:
1. e4 e5
2. Nc3 Nc6
3. f4
The Vienna Gambit goes against the Max Lange Defense in a variation that is similar to the King’s Gambit, except better. The Vienna Gambit is more sound than the King’s Gambit as we have better development of our pieces and our king is less exposed. The Vienna Gambit is a fun chess opening and dangerous chess opening for white. I specifically recommend the Vienna Gambit for beginner chess players and intermediate chess players as it has good chess opening moves, chess opening ideas, chess opening theory, chess opening principles, and chess opening strategy. We hope you enjoy learning how to play the Vienna Gambit!

Thanks for another great video!
So helpful, thanks for the share!
What about the Vienna Game Frankenstein-Dracula?
Hi Solomon! Great video! As a vienna player myself I can say that against ….d5 by black Qf3 (followed by dxc3, Qg3, Bf4, 0-0-0) is quite a bit more fun to play compared to Nf3. Personal preference, but thats what I found.
Many players are super afraid of Vienna gambit and avoid it with Nc6 on move 2, against that normal Vienna game with g3 is great!
thats why i play the scandinavian
I really like your opening videos, because its fast and concrete. Really great job π
Can.you show how to play vienna if black plays the other knight.
Dammit, Solomon, every time I try to stay in my hypermodern Hippo husk, you draw me out into the world of Rudolf Spielmann. Thanks for reminding me that classic chess is well named. Cheers.
What about Qf3 line after Nxe4? I' ve been always seen this move on GM level. Can you please a video on this line >.<?

Holy u are so good at chess tutorials, this is honestly as good as Gotham chessβs paid course!
at 14:33, what makes the queen takes f8 check so dangerous that the knight cannot take d5?
Hey, what about if Black responds with Bc5 on move 2?
Hey, what if black doesn't respond with pawn to e5, because that's usually my case
This I my favorite opening, I went from 800 to 1500 using this ridiculous opening hahha
2:19 – what to do next if black defends the e5 with Nc6?
…..and if a hyperdynamic move like nc3 is in the air, we simply castle and we are just playing chess.
Just look at the activity of those hyperdynamic pieces! All kinds of ideas are in the air.
My knights are always ready to jump in at a moments notice. The problem is that they always jump to the wrong squares. What on earth is going on?
One of the best tutorial i ever watch
